Station Hoorn
Hoorn station is the most important railway station in the Dutch city of Hoorn. The station dates from 1883 and is located at the Zaandam - Hoorn railway line that opened on 20 May 1884. On 6 June 1885 the railway was extended to Enkhuizen.
From Hoorn, lines were then opened to Medemblik on 3 November 1887, to Heerhugowaard (- Alkmaar) on 1 October 1898 and in 1913 a tram line to Bovenkarspel-Grootebroek and Enkhuizen via Venhuizen (Spoorweg-Maatschappij De Zuider Kogge)
In the station there is a waiting hall, a restaurant, a kiosk and a flower shop. The building is on the national monument list under number 22576.
At the back of the railway station at the Transferium is the Tram Station Hoorn of the Museum Steam Tram Hoorn - Medemblik, which makes use of the line from the former local railway to Medemblik.
In 1985, the suburb Hoorn Kersenboogerd was opened to the east of Hoorn station.
