Isabella van Suijdam from Hoorn has her own gin
I am 16 years old and have my own gin since December 10th.
I am doing a study in Amsterdam Noord, an entrepreneurial education.
Since many friends already had their own company, I decided to do something for myself. Actually, one joke came from the other, I wanted a drink line. Something unique that others don't do at my age.
I received a telephone number through my father, who said: "I know someone, just go call."
No sooner said than done. Made an appointment with a distiller. At bell number 1 he was already enthusiastic and he said: “we can arrange that, nice! Come with a few ideas! ” After our appointment we decided that we were going to continue.
I wanted to be unique not only in what I did but also in my product, I love history and I had already thought that my bottle should be called Leonarda, that is my second name and it has been worn for six generations by the women in my family.
Then the bottle had to have a label, it appears that photo rights are difficult to obtain. Now I knew that I had made another photo of the Halve Maen while sailing in the summer.
We now had a name and label.
What fits Leonarda and the Halve Maen? VOC spices! We used the ingredients cinnamon, mace, juniper, cardamom and cloves.
A bottle of gin based on Hoorn, VOC, and family.
That's why my bottle radiates these words:
Leonarda Spiced Gin has its origins in our glorious VOC era. A time without deadlines, mobile phones and overload.
Where everyone took the time to listen to each other without distraction while enjoying a drink. This drink is Leonarda Spiced Gin.
By incorporating into the gin the most beautiful herbs that we know from the VOC era, you get that feeling of peace back when drinking Leonarda Spiced Gin.
Make time for each other, enjoy Leonarda Spiced Gin.
Now the final score.
My gin has been on the market for two months now and is located in different restaurants. In Hoorn you can find it at Bij Meta, café JP Coen, Bommels and soon also the new boutique hotel Ysbrantsz.
Cheers!
